At our Pilates Studio in Caringbah our philosophy is to combine the powerful traditional aspects of Mat and Reformer Pilates with modern day posture, lifestyle and of course some fun! Here’s the fun part, we have added Signature Classes that are a fusion of styles – Spinlates and Boxlates. The fresh mix-ups not only challenge your muscles in new ways, ramping up your calorie burn, but also keeping you motivated by spicing up been-there-done-that routines. Only at AMB!
Mat Pilates is usually what most people are familiar with; it is based on slow and mindful exercises that require having control over your breathing. It is performed on the floor using an exercise or yoga mat and employs controlled breathing during body weight resisted movement to build core strength. The Pilates Reformer Bed is an extraordinarily flexible piece of exercise equipment allowing resistance and support for exercises involving every part of the body. Throw in some cycles for Spinlates and boxing gloves for Boxlates to completely reshape your workout and your body!

This NEW Signature class is a hybrid of Pilates Reformer and indoor cycling. Created by inspired professional fitness trainers, this brand NEW class is the BEST of both worlds – core strengthening on our Reformer Beds combined with a high intensity cardio workout on our Spin bikes, the ultimate fat burner. The 45-minute format of this class covers all your bodies’ fitness demands
This NEW Signature Class combines strong Pilate’s core and glute exercises with the strength and cardio of Boxing. This workout will burn maximum calories, while building lean muscle, increase stamina and strengthen the core. It’s a fun class and the ultimate sculptor.
Level 1: fundamental
Our previous “Reformer Technique” class that works with control and precision at a deliberate pace to find your form and perfect your technique. This class creates a strong foundation in Pilate’s principals and uses exercises selected to encourage Pilates form, alignment, and core control across all planes. This class is enough of a workout to get your endorphins flowing but with more detailed instruction, essential level exercises and transitions.
*Suitable for recovering injuries (with a prior private introduction)
Level 2: Intermediate level
Our previous “Reformer Freestyle” class for the more experienced student that works with control and precision at a deliberate pace to find your form and perfect your technique. Building on from our Level 1 classes, you will flow through a more challenging series of exercises that target the whole body, incorporating functional movement patterns to strengthen, tone, firm and balance your body and posture. Use of equipment for strength and control and getting a great cardio-workout by usage of a jump-board. Not suitable for those with injuries or during pregnancy.
**Suitable only for a student with a basic understanding of the exercises on the reformer.
This mat class is about, effective core training. You will be targeting and training the Transversus Abdominis and Pelvic Floor. The Transversus Abdominus is the deepest yet most important layer of stomach muscle, its role is to flatten the abdominal wall and also to stabilise the spine as it’s the only stomach muscle to actually attach onto each of the lower vertebrae. Strengthening this muscle helps to reduce back pain and decrease the risk of injuring the lower back.
This class is perfect for those who are ready to take their training to the next level. With a combination of movements involving our new Activ Straps, Bosu Balls, your body weight and hand weights this is the ultimate Pilates Sculpting workout. We’ll work you hard and you’ll leave in a sweat but you’ll feel lengthened, stronger, more toned; and craving more!
This mat class is a combination of core work, stretch and foam rolling. It is a great way to release all the tension we build of through the week and re-set our bodies. The class will leave you feeling lengthened, strengthened and rejuvenated. Stretch Pilates is based on stretching and breathing techniques with the use of equipment such as Thera bands, circles and foam rollers
