Here are our mostly commonly asked questions.

Where are you located?

We are at unit 6, 38 – 40 Croydon St Cronulla, we are near the IGA.

Where can I park?

You can park in the council car park, when you enter the doors to go to IGA we are on the right hand side as soon as you walk in the glass sliding doors.

What should I wear to a yoga class?

Tie back your hair and wear light, stretchy clothing that allows you to move comfortably. You may get sweaty so please bring a towel and change of clothes. No shoes, turn phones off, bags or glass water bottles are allowed in the practice rooms.

What should I wear to a pilates class?

Tie back your hair and wear light, stretchy clothing that allows you to move comfortably. Please bring a clean pair of socks. No shoes, turn phones off, bags or glass water bottles are allowed in the practice rooms.

What should I wear to a meditation class?

Clothing that allows you to sit comfortably plus an extra scarf or layer to keep you warm. No shoes, turn phones off, bags or glass water bottles are allowed in the practice rooms.

How should I prepare for class?

Drink water throughout the day and avoid eating heavily for two hours prior to class. Please arrive at the studio at least 10 minutes before class so you can check in, store your belongings in the cube and get set up.

What do I do when I get to the studio?

Say hello to our friendly front desk crew, tell them your full name and let them know that it’s your first time at the studio so they can show you around.

When does my Intro Pass start?

It will be activated on your first visit to the studio and is valid for 21 days.

Can I gift an Intro Pass or Class Pass to someone else?

Yes!

Can I buy or use a Gift Card?

Yes! You can buy gift cards in the studio.

Do I have to book into class?

Yes. Bookings are open 48hours before a class, you can check the timetable and book into class online up to an 30mins before class begins. Please be aware that you will be charged a no-show fee if you fail to attend. See the terms and conditions on our pricing page for information.

I’ve never practiced yoga before. Which class should I take?

Our instructors are highly qualified to advise what adjustments to take. Please speak to your instructor before the class to advise you are new.

I’m an experienced yogi. Which class should I take?

Yoga Open classes are for experienced practitioners, offering an energetic flow and creative sequencing designed to challenge and inspire both physically and mentally. Classes vary in focus and pace, from teacher to teacher.

I’ve never practiced pilates before. Which class should I take?

Our instructors are highly qualified to advise what adjustments to take. You will learn how to use the Reformer machines and equipment, and build your foundations gradually and safely, with a focus on instruction and alignment. Please speak to your instructor before the class to advise you are new.

I am new to yoga. Can I practice while I am pregnant?

Yes. If you are past your first trimester, have had no complications and have been given the ok from your doctor, you will need advise the instructor before the class to allow for modifications.

I am an experienced yogi. Can I practice while I am pregnant?

Yes. If you are past your first trimester, have had no complications and have been given the ok from your doctor. If you have any questions please let us know and we will put you in touch with our highly qualified instructors.

I am new to pilates. Can I practice pilates while I am pregnant?

Yes. If you are past your first trimester, have had no complications and have been given the ok from your doctor, you will need advise the instructor before the class to allow for modifications.

Can I bring my children to the studio?

Unless we are running a special class or event, children under 13 are not permitted. Any children visiting the studios must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and are not permitted in the practice room. Teenagers aged 14-16 are welcome to attend class if accompanied by an adult (concession rates apply – no child pricing is available).

Where do I put my belongings while I practice?

Please store the cube as you walk in. No shoes, turn phones off, bags or glass water bottles are allowed in the practice rooms.

Do you have child-minding facilities?

No. Children are not permitted to wait in the studio while you practice.

What happens at the end of my Intro Pass?

Ask our desk crew about our Class Pass or Membership. Sign up for before your Intro Pass is up to receive 20% off your first month of Membership. Check out our flexible options.

Can I bring my pets to the studio?

What are the benefits of yoga?

Practicing yoga three to four times a week can stave off anxiety and depression, by lowering levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. It also reduces inflammation, boosts energy and has the power to lift your mood. Yoga improves cardiovascular health and lowers blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and increasing the flow of blood to the heart, and speeds up digestion, which can assist in weight loss.

Suffering from a sore neck or back?

When you hold a yoga pose your muscles contract and then relax, easing tension and relieving pain. Regular practice not only benefits your body, it’s also good for your brain. Focusing the breath maximized the flow of oxygenated blood to your head, increasing memory performance, concentration, creativity and focus.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat or towel?

You are welcome to bring your own mat or loan ours, towel hire is $2.

What happens in a Yin Yoga class?

Yin Yoga offers long, meditative yoga holds that release stress and tension from the body, explore subtle energies and penetrate deep into the connective tissues of the body. Positions are held from 3-7 minutes and may be enhanced by supportive props like bolsters, blankets or blocks.

Can I claim my classes through my health fund?

It depends on your fund.

How many people are in the classes?

Classes are limited to twelve people.

Will Pilates help my yoga practice?

Yes. Pilates will dial up your core, strengthening the deep muscles in the abdominal and obliques. It will also increase stability in your shoulders and hips, supporting your joints, and helping you to move with greater efficiency and control.

Can I practice pilates if I am injured?

What does my Unlimited Membership include?

What is an Annual Membership and what does it include?

Access to All Pilates, Yoga, Barre and Meditation classes at Active Mind Body Studio. 10% off all workshops and events. Plus a discount for upfront payment.

How does billing work?

Membership payments are direct-debited from your account on a fortnightly schedule from the day you sign up, or you can nominate a date that syncs with your pay cycle. After four months your account will automatically renew until you cancel it. Seven days notice is required.

Can I pause my membership?

Yes. We need seven days notice. Please email info@activemindbody.com.au with your full name, phone number and the start and finish dates. You can pause your account for a minimum of seven days and a maximum of 56 days for year.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes. Membership is a minimum four-month commitment. If you would like to cancel after this period please email info@activemindbody.com.au with your full name, phone number and cancellation date. We need seven days notice.

What does automatic top-up mean?

Automatic top-up means that when you run through your class pass, our system automatically stocks you back up with five or ten classes, depending on your preference.
